Health Advice For Better Living

If you are a person trying to find the best source of health advice, then here's how to save you from lots of trouble. It is always a good thing to ask for advices regarding your health but asking alone won't help. You must take action as well. Without action, those things would be empty words. I'm emphasizing this one because it is very important that you don't just listen to the advice but rather, you listen and do what is advice. The action is much more important for this is where we see results. Anyway, if you want to learn more about health, this is the place to be.

Where should we get health advice? What are the most reliable sources? Well, here are some options that I know:

Internet - "if you want to know something, Google it!" pretty much true. It is indeed the widest and largest source of answers for health questions. It is also the easiest way to search for health advices. However, because the internet is created by people from all walks of life, we can't be sure if these advices are reliable enough. It's pretty risky to ask for health advice on the internet nowadays.
Doctor - a doctor is a professional health care person. He knows pretty much a lot about health. The doctor is the best source of advice about health and you can trust everything that the doctor advices you to do. You can simply follow what the doctor says without fear. If you really want a reliable source of advice about health, the doctor would be the number on the list.
Healthy People- these people are living testimonies. You don't have to think twice because you can actually the results. You can see in them that what they advice you works well for them so in my opinion, they are perhaps one of the best sources of advice about health, next to doctors, that is.

I know that everybody wants to be healthy. Regardless of age, race and occupation, we all want to have a healthy and physically fit body. It is the best thing that we could give ourselves. It prolongs our life, allows us to have more happy memories, allows us to be physically and mentally active, promotes healthy relationships and gives us a happier life. So how can a person be healthy? Well, there are simple ways to follow but if you lack discipline, determination and dedication, it would be as difficult as painting the Eiffel tower pink using a nail polish brush.

First and foremost, a healthy diet is necessary. Eating the right foods and getting the right nutrition out of these foods would make you healthy. Gives you the right stuff that your body needs to function efficiently.
Exercise is also important. You need to be active. It is good that you always move around to make sure that you burn fats and get your body active. Find the right type of exercise that fits you to make it easier.
Rest is an essential part of being healthy. It allows your body to charge up for another day so has plenty of this.

Ultimate Tips For Creating Unlimited Health, Happiness and Balanced Living - Nourish Relationships 2

In a previous article on this subject I discussed the "Jar of Life" analogy, and how important it is to add your "big rocks" to your jar first, while there's still plenty of room.

So, how do we make this "real" in your life?

1) Determine who and what are most important in your life. These are your "rocks". Who and what come in second? These are your "pebbles". And finally, who and what are your fillers? Alas, these are your "sand".

2) Next, make sure these "rocks" are a priority in your daily or weekly schedule. When I look at my calendar before a new week begins, I first pencil in the things like appointments and commitments I need to keep. The very next thing I do is to schedule time for my rocks. In my case, this is dedicated time for my own rituals, my husband, my children, my dad, my close friends, and my work: writing, speaking and educating. This is the "stuff" I'm most passionate about.

This is an incredibly valuable lesson I was taught many years ago, and it serves as a fantastic and challenging action step:

"Schedule your priorities as opposed to prioritizing your schedule."

Be proactive in creating the time in your life for the most important people, relationships and roles FIRST. Laundry, dishes, errands, email, bills, paperwork, etc. will always be on the list, but they shouldn't take the place of the 'biggies' in your life. I know, sometimes it's easier said than done.

I've taken this lesson to heart for the last several years - I nurture and 'feed' my top relationships and passions, with great focus and intention, on a regular basis. Some of my own personal examples of this are:

I start and end each day with God (as well as countless prayers throughout my day). I fill myself up with empowering and enriching rituals each morning. I carve out quality time for my marriage, even if it's just a few minutes on some days. Several times each week I schedule in "Kid Time" - time just for them... not time for multi-tasking! I call my dad every night to keep him company. I schedule time for reading motivational, inspirational and educational material everyday. I write daily to fulfill my passion for educating and empowering others. I exercise several times every week. These are the 'biggies' for me. You get the picture.

3) The next action step is a doozy...

Be fully present when you're nourishing these relationships.

Fully focus on the relationship or role you're currently nourishing and you'll see it flourish! Really, where else should we be but HERE and NOW?!

This is truly a surefire way to create a more fulfilling and joyful life full of rich relationships.

Until next time, Be Happy, Be Well and Smile!

Ultimate Tips For Creating Unlimited Health, Happiness and Balanced Living - Nourish Relationships

Nourishing our relationships and roles is a critical component of our overall health. Unfortunately, when stress or the busy nature of our lives become overwhelming, we sometimes let our most important relationships and roles slide a bit.

When this happens, I feel it's important to remember what our priorities really are, and to place our focus there.

There's a great analogy to give you a visual of what this means... it goes loosely like this:

Start with a large glass jar that represents your life. You get to choose what you fill your jar with. Your fillers are rocks, pebbles and sand. These fillers are your various relationships, roles, activities, responsibilities, activities, etc.

Your "rocks" represent your most significant relationships and priorities in life. The things that make your heart sing and complete you at the deepest level. For example, maybe your rocks consist of God, marriage, children, family, intimate friendships, career and pursuits you're passionate about. (Maybe not!)

Your "pebbles" are the secondary relationships. For example, maybe some friends and family that didn't quite make your "rocks" list, as well as career and hobby-related relationships or activities.

Your "sand" is just the 'filler'... nothing personal against the folks or activities that are in your sand category! Your life could very easily be fulfilling, perhaps much more fulfilling and rewarding, without those relationships and activities, that's all. These could be relationships or activities that don't do much to inspire you or enrich your life or the life of your "rocks". They're not necessarily bad or negative, in fact, they might be kinda' fun! They just don't light your fire the same way your rocks do!

Now visualize how you would go about filling up your jar. If you put all the sand in first, will you have room later to add all the rocks? Probably not.

Obviously, the lesson goes like this... fill your jar with your rocks first. Next, add your pebbles... they'll fit in nicely around your rocks. Finally, add your sand... it fills in all the gaps and makes your jar 'complete' (not to mention that it has a nice "beach" feel now!).

Do you have too much sand left over to add to your jar?

Maybe it was sand that didn't quite fit comfortably in your life in the first place. Perhaps it's some of the time-wasting or self-destructive habits or hobbies you've become accustomed to. Possibly, it's stressful or unhealthy relationships. Maybe it's just something you've outgrown as you've evolved. Could be anything.

If there's no room for it after your rocks and pebbles, throw it back onto the beach!

Until next time, Be Well, Be Happy and Smile!

Living Together Without Marriage Improves Men's Mental Health

A study in England of thousands of women and men found that people who went through the good and bad times with the original mate and stayed together were much happier mentally.

It was also found that men who played the field got over the relationships when they ended much quicker then women did.

Women who stay single who once had a great love that did not work out tended to be mentally stable.

The fact that women who live with a man without benefit of marriage are not as happy as the men is because there is no financial protection for them when the relationship ends. Security is everything to women and marriage represents stability and although the relationship can end they will have some rights. This explains why women who are married are more mentally stable then if they simply lived together.

Women have children and need a stable lifestyle and a strong desire to protect themselves and their kids. So marriage is very important financially and also there is the question of respect that everyone needs. If a women has her own career and here own money these thing may be less important.

From a man's point of view and if he's over 25 security is not very important. But most men don't want to be squeezed into a relationship by the women he loves. He want's it to be his idea. The trick for a woman is to make him believe it is His Idea.

Being married has always been associated with greater mental and physical health. Bachelors don't live, as long, at least that's what the myth indicates. In the past studies have shown married men live a longer life with greater psychological happiness.

There was an English study for 10 years ending in the millennium of 10,000 adults. Both men and women were interviewed and asked a series of questions about being depressed or anxious.

Long-lasting relationships that have weathered the storm provided excellent mental health.

People that had failed relationships and were now alone had combinations of grief and anger and were often depressed. Both men and women had poor mental health after this experience. But for those who could move on to new relationships, much of the damage was somewhat reversed. Although women seemed to have a harder time of letting go than men did.

Women's mental health progressively deteriorated with the more break-ups they experienced.

For men that had several different experiences it seemed the opposite was true. Men who had more then one relationship and moved on seemed to be in excellent mental health. Those men that had only one relationship and not moved on were not as mentally stable.

Women who never married but lived with their mate were in great mental health unlike men in the same situation.
